Mechanym is a daily word puzzle for iPhone and iPad: give a small, expressive machine words and figure out the secret rule it hides.
Mechanym is a daily word puzzle where you play against a small, expressive machine with a secret. Each day it hides a rule that turns one word into another. Give it up to twelve words and watch what comes back, then describe the rule in your own words. The machine judges the meaning, so "it's the opposite" counts, and a close guess hears what's still missing.
Mechanym is a daily word puzzle where you play against a small, expressive machine with a secret.
Each day it hides a rule that turns one word into another. Give it up to twelve words and watch what comes back: "hot" becomes "cold", and some words get no answer at all. Then describe the rule in your own words. The machine judges the meaning, so "it's the opposite" counts, and a close guess hears what's still missing. It's the daily ritual of a word game with the "aha" of a riddle.
The machine is the heart of the app: one animated character that squints at your words, celebrates when you solve it, gloats when it stumps you, and reacts when you poke it or open your iPhone Duo. Swipe between games and it morphs into a new design. In Charade it pretends to be something and gives clues; in Questions you get twenty yes-or-no questions; in Say It you get it to say as many words as you can with ten hints.
Every round ends on a spoiler-free result ticket, and a challenge link lets a friend play the same puzzle for free.
One machine plays every game and morphs into a new design for each.
“I've got a secret rule. Figure it out.”
The daily puzzle. Twelve words to probe the rule and name it. Free every day.
“I'm pretending to be something. Who am I?”
The machine describes itself one clue at a time. Every miss earns another clue, up to five.
“I'm thinking of something. You get twenty questions.”
Ask yes-or-no questions to close in. A guess counts as a question too.
“Get me to say the word.”
Get the machine to say as many words as you can with ten hints. Some words are off limits, and you only find out by typing them.
